Reducing Data Breaches in Schools is a half-day workshop bringing together school data protection leads and stakeholders to learn more about data breaches and how they can be avoided.

Content

The workshop will combine short lectures with group activities. These will cover:

• Identifying a data breach
• Evaluating whether to inform the ICO
• Common breaches and mistakes
• Identifying and scoring data protection risks
• Using data protection impact assessments

About the trainer

Alan Martin provides a Data Protection Officer service to 7 schools in East Kent. Before going freelance in 2019, he was the Head of Data Protection at the University of Kent. Alan is a qualified data protection practitioner with 14 years’ experience of information compliance in the public sector.
