A half-day workshop about the role of a Data Protection Lead, including new ways to work with the school’s Data Protection Officer to meet the requirements of the GDPR and the Data Protection Act.

The workshop will combine short lectures with group interaction.
It includes practical advice on:
- Checking security measures
- Conducting risk assessments
- Using sharing agreements
- Applying retention periods
- Handling information requests
- Responding to data breaches

About the trainer
Alan Martin provides a Data Protection Officer service to the Education Endowment Foundation and 16 schools in East Kent. Before going freelance in 2019, he was the Head of Data Protection at the University of Kent. Alan is a qualified data protection practitioner with 16 years’ experience of information compliance in the public sector.
