Data Protection Advice Ltd helps businesses comply with Data Protection law via a service contract or ad-hoc support, such as training.

Categories of personal data

The personal data processed is the contact details of clients/potential clients along with correspondence regarding the service.

As part of the Data Protection Officer service, information about data subjects may also be processed. This is primarily related to records held by the organisation or issues raised by the data subject.

Purpose of processing and legal basis

To provide details about the service and to administrate ad-hoc work and service contracts.  The legal basis for this is performance of contract.

To comply with the statutory functions of a Data Protection Officer.

To facilitate collaboration between clients using the service under the legal basis of legitimate interests.

To market the service to named business contacts.  Potential client details are obtained directly from themselves or indirectly through such sources as organisation websites, LinkedIn and Companies House.  The legal basis for this marketing activity is legitimate interests.

Opting out of receiving marketing at your business

Individuals can opt-out of receiving marketing correspondence to their business by contacting the data controller at the above email address.

Retention

Personal information will be destroyed 6 years after the end of the financial year of the client’s or subject’s last activity.
